Starlight (above) and Starlight Duo (below) is a series of small quilts that reflect on the power of connection and how migration reshapes our relationship to place, to self, and to each other. These works explore the idea that change begins both within and between us—that transformation can be sparked by what we already hold and sustained through shared reflection.

The Starlight quilts focus on the individual, honoring the quiet, internal work of adaptation. Starlight Duo centers on the collective, emphasizing the relational power we hold when we reflect, support, and grow alongside one another. Each quilt contains mirrored fabric, representing both the introspection needed for change and the reflection we offer to those around us.

Designed with star-like quilt blocks, these pieces draw on our cosmic connection—the reminder that we are all made of stardust, and that each of us carries light, direction, and legacy. The star is both a symbol of guidance and a mark of what we leave behind.

In a time shaped by movement, dislocation, and transformation, Starlight and Starlight Duo invite viewers to consider how we adapt, how we shine, and how we find one another through darkness, distance, and light.
